Welcome to Karrawa Guest House, a family run establishment offering comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in Kirkwall, the main town of the Orkney Islands. Albert and Aileen invite you to share and enjoy their hospitality. We aim to provide a high standard of accommodation for visitors and travellers alike. We are both from the Orkney Islands and have a vast knowledge of the area and can help make the most of your time during your visit. All rooms are clean and have all the required facilities to ensure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable. Centrally situated, the guest house is within easy walking distance of the towns' shops and restaurants, with the spectacular St Magnus Cathedral only 1km away. If your stay is for pleasure, it is an ideal base to explore the Orkney Islands from, with the airport and ferry terminals only 2.5 miles away. Similarly if you are visiting on business, we are located in Kirkwall and close to all local amenities. We are registered members of Visit Orkney and Visit Scotland and have been awarded a 3 star grading at the Guest house.We are open all year round.

Directions

From Kirkwall Airport: turn right towards Kirkwall, drive approximately 2 miles. As you pass the speed limit signs coming into Kirkwall take the next right onto Inganess Road. We are the third property on the right . There is a blue sign saying Karrawa Guest House with trees in the garden.From the Kirkwall ferry terminal (Ferry from Shetland and Aberdeen): As you leave the ferry drive towards the first road junction, turn left and follow the road approximately 0.5 miles until you come to a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit and follow the road until you come to another small roundabout. Again take the 2nd exit and then the 2nd left onto the Clay Loan. Drive up the steep hill and turn right at the junction. Drive on approximately 0.5 miles and turn left into Inganess Road. We are the 3rd property on the right, there is a blue sign saying Karrawa Guest House and trees in the garden.From the St Margaret's Hope ferry terminal: Follow the road from the ferry until you come to a junction at the main road. Turn left towards Kirkwall. Follow the road for approximately 25 minutes crossing 4 causeways (The Churchill Barriers) until you come into Kirkwall. As you pass the Highland Park Distillery take the 4th road to your right (its almost straight on before the sharp bend left). Then take the 2nd right onto Easdale Loan, followed by a left turn then an immediate right turn onto Inganess Road. We are the 3rd property on the right, there is a blue sign saying Karrawa Guest House and trees in the garden.From the Stromness Ferry terminal: As you leave the ferry turn right, follow the road until you come to a small roundabout. Take the 2nd exit and follow the road for approximately 25minutes through Stenness and Finstown until you come into Kirkwall. Continue down the hill, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and follow the road until you come to another small roundabout. Again take the 2nd exit and then the 2nd left onto the Clay Loan. Drive up the steep brae and turn right at the junction. Drive on approximately 0.5 miles and turn left into Inganess Road. We are the 3rd property on the right, there is a blue sign saying Karrawa Guest House and trees in the garden.From the St Magnus Cathedral (Walking, Cycling or by Car) : With the St Magnus Cathedral on your left hand side go up Palace Road, continue 1km until you come to Inganess Road on your left. It is approximately a 15-20 minutes walk or 2 minutes by car. We are the 3rd property on the right, there is a blue sign saying Karrawa Guest House and trees in the garden.
